Zamalek plays a guessing game

Egyptian league champions El Zamalek arrived yesterday without four of their influential players ahead of their CAF Champions League tie against APR on Saturday.

The quadruplet of striker Amri Zaky, Tarek El Sayed, Karim Aly Mohammed and custodian Mohammed Abdel Monsef is reportedly with the national team in Dubai celebrating their African Nations Cup win over Cameroon on Sunday.

They are expected to link up with the team today afternoon.
El Zamalek team under ex-dutch international Rudolf Josef Krol held their first training session yesterday at Utexrwa ground. They will hold a morning training session today at Nyamirambo stadium before completing their training session’s tomorrow morning.

Zamalek will face APR in the first leg of the first round of the MTN/CAF Champions League at Nyamirambo stadium on Saturday with revenge of 2004 second exit on their minds.

APR will be trying to do a double over the North Africa favorites. The military side under former coach Jean Marie Ntagwabira saw off Zamalek after a 6-4 goal aggregate but the heat will be on new coach Andia Mfutila this time around.

The winner between APR and Zamalek will face the winner between Tonnere FC and Africa Sports.
