Rayon in talks with Mfutila

AS Vita assistant and former APR coach Andy Mfutila could be on his way to Rayon Sport if latest reports from the club’s top management are anything to go by. The six-time champions who trail reigning champions and league leaders APR by 11 points, are desperate to bridge that gap and believe Mfutila has the pedigree and experience to help them achieve this target.

The Blues’ Secretary General Olivier Gakwaya yesterday revealed that the club is already in contact with the Congolese tactician.

"We have made our goals clear to him and he is expected to fly in this Friday to finalize the deal,” the official said.
"If everything goes according to plan, he will assume the club’s head coaching duties while Emmanuel Ruremesha and Rajab Bizimuremye will share the club’s assistant coaching duties.”

Gakwaya also confirmed that they are in talks with former AS Vita defender Karim Nizigiyimana, Aloua Gaseruka (El Merreikh), Dan Wagaluka (Yanga), Mike Serumaga (Bunamwaya).

While at APR, Mfutila won a treble (league title, MTN Peace Cup and Cecafa Club Championship).

Former Atraco coach Sam Timbe has also been linked to the Blues’ head coaching job.
