The women’ national basketball team has departed for Uganda for the FIBA Women’s AfroBasket Zone V Qualifiers slated for February 14-19 at the Indoor Arena in Lugogo in Kampala, Uganda.

The team left Kigali International Airport on Sunday evening aboard RwandAir flight.

Egypt, Kenya and South Sudan will battle for the only spot on offer for the Final Round.

Rwanda, meanwhile, already have an automatic ticket as hosts but Sarr wanted to take his ladies to take part in the qualifiers as a good test to assess their progress and what he needs to improve to get them ready for the finals.

The finals of this year’s edition will take place from July 26 to August 6 in Kigali, Rwanda.
