The Rwanda National Police (RNP) on August 22 announced that the Ugandan woman who was reported missing last week has been found and is safe.

The lady identified as Justine Owor was reported missing on August 16, a day after a Catholic Pilgrimage at Kibeho, in Nyaruguru District according to the communique from RNP.

"She was found wandering on the street of Kigali and the medical doctors came to the scene and observed that she was experiencing mental distress,” read part of the announcement signed by RNP spokesperson, John Bosco Kabera.

Police revealed that currently Owor is receiving healthcare at the National Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital caraes Ndera and all the concerned institutions are informed and will help her reunite with the family.

Owor was among the thousands of the Roman Catholic congregation who on August 15 attended the trip to Kibeho this year to mark Assumption Day, Kibeho is a small town in Nyaruguru District famous for apparitions of the Virgin Mary that first happened in 1981.
