Dear Editor,I had the wonderful opportunity to visit your beautiful country last year as part of a Canadian Baptist short term mission group.

We were in Kigali for a few days and then went to Ngarama for seven days. While there, we helped to construct a school dormitory, a residence for 100 young boys. It was such a pleasure to be in your country.

What impressed me most about the Republic of Rwanda was its green and clean environment. I admire your country for making plastic grocery bags illegal. Canada would do well to do the same thing.

The other thing that impressed me was the church services in Rwanda. You Africans sure know how to worship God. Church services, which were between 3 1/2 and 4 hours long included three or four choirs, music including drums, and that wonderful harmony that only Africans seem to know how to perform. It was quite impressive.

Thanks to all the Rwandans who looked after us while we were there. Some of them Include Sam Kalinda, Laurence Makashema, Manzi Theogene, Ephrem Uwimana, Pastor Gato, and Michel and Andre whose surnames I do not remember. Special thanks go to Eduardo, our driver and Yasini, the great chef who cooked gourmet meals for us while we were in Ngarama.

It was a trip of a lifetime. Thanks to all Rwandans who were so nice and friendly.
