When we talk of driving, we mean, “the ability to manoeuvre the movement of a vehicle, with the right state of mind”. Anything short of that could spell out doom for the driver, other drivers and road users. We hear of so many statistics of so many injured or killed after a drunken driver rams into another vehicle or a roadside crowd, e.t.c. These could have been avoided if the said driver had been courteous enough to exercise maximum respect to other road users.

As the days pass by, many people are setting aside lots of cash, all in the name of celebrating the Christmas as well as the New Year’s Day. These will involve lots of eats and drinks being consumed. Out of all the drinks consumed, the alcoholic drinks will account for the majority, these have a high capacity to impair the drivers’ abilities such that, they are left prone to accidents.
Statistics show that, many people go out drinking and merry making all night long; the end result is that, they drive under too much fatigue and end up getting involved in road accidents. Remember, traffic police is out there to catch all those that "drink and drive”. In many countries, the fines for drunken driving could range from the equivalent of US$200 to imprisonment for a few months or both. If you drink, make sure you do not drive; you could hire a driver to drive you home.
To those that intend to travel long distances to their places of birth, my advice is that, wake up early, and set off early, drive carefully and within controllable speed ranges. Over speeding and rushing or driving under pressure is quite taxing and could be disastrous.
As they say, "be safe, be alive”. Secondly, there are lots of people out there, waiting to rip you off of your hard earned goodies, they could take your vehicle, its contents or both. Be careful where you park your vehicle as go merry making.
A night of joy could result into many months of pain! Leaving your homes unattended could turn up disastrous as some people may give themselves a nice treat at your expense!
