Those Beautiful pieces cost a fortune!

Visit a dentist annually if you want to save up from your teeth.

Ever met someone who smiled and you did not want them to stop? Well, it can be spirit-lifting or probably worrying—especially if you daily look at your teeth in the mirror, and do not like what you see!

Teeth are the most ignored part of our body. We hardly give considerable care and attention to our teeth. Oh yes! You have brushed them every morning of your life, so what more attention do they need? All the attention, I must say, all the attention! How much do we spend at dentists clinics because our teeth have failed us?

A few weeks ago, I had issues with my teeth because I did not like what I felt at the back of the teeth—with my tongue, I mean. So I begun to save; I saved for three months because I needed to cover the dentist’s fee!
Remember the old saying; "Prevention is better than cure”? Well, I did not have that intuition when it came to my teeth.

The female dentist I met is one of the best and most kind doctors I have met in a long time. She gave me, "preventive medicine” after going through the "curative exercise” of teeth picking, pocking and cleaning—which I do not want to exactly discuss right now—the memory of this experience is still very fresh and painful, I must admit.
My dentist recommended the following:-

•Brush your teeth every evening before you retire to bed.
This is quite disturbing considering that many of us get home completely thrashed and the only thing on one’s mind is their bed.

•Use dental floss.

This helps remove food particles from between the teeth which would otherwise cause bacterial development that damages your teeth.

•Replace tooth brushes every after ONE month.
The bristles wear out and brushing becomes almost ineffective.

•Use a tooth brush that has a narrow or small head.
This makes rushing teeth at the extreme end of the mouth easy.

•Sweets are dangerous enemies to our teeth:
Eat sweets and sweet snacks sparingly! Or is it; spare the teeth?

•Take a balanced diet giving considerable attention to foods that contain calcium.
Calcium keeps teeth strong and white. Tell me of anyone who would not exchange their toes for a set of strong, white teeth?

•Teeth are not bottle-top openers! As hard as it is to believe, teeth do break.
A set of broken teeth as a result of opening soda bottles, is abominable!

•Teeth get damaged in so many ways! For some, it is the ‘holes in the teeth’, commonly known as cavities.

Cavities when not cemented do get wider and deeper and could extend to other still-in-good shape teeth. Therefore, make an annual visit to the dentist for a check-up. This way, damaged teeth are detected earlier and those with "holes” get filled.

Remember that the charge to fill cavities will be per tooth: How many do you have?
