Rayon Sports new owner and chairman Albert Rudatsimburwa has promised to bring back the glory days at the club after being officially unveiled to the excited Blues fans in a hugely attended ceremony held at Alpha Palace hotel on Sunday.

Rudatsimburwa signed a seven-year deal to take over Rwanda’s most supported football club, and will among other things, pay the club’s outstanding debts, bring top talented players to the club.

But most importantly in the eyes of the club faithful followers, the new owner promised to bring back the club’s most successful coach, Raoul Shungu.

Talking to Times Sport after the officially signing of the seven year deal, Rudatsimburwa said he wants to bring professionalism and good management to the club.

"There is no doubt that football is popular and lucrative in Rwanda. But what is lacking is professionalism in this sport.
"Rayon Sport is a big brand that needs professionals to run it and that is what we shall basically offer”, the Contact FM proprietor said.

In the deal, Rudatsimburwa will be mandated to remit 30% of profits to the club which will put on a savings account.
According to Rayon Sports’ youthful new owner, the club’s monthly budget of Frw9m will also be increased to Frw12m due to more staff that will come in.

Among the new changes, which took immediate effect, was the creation of a new post of Director General and Jim Ford Angulu was appointed. Angulu will be entrusted with the day to day running of the club.

Meanwhile, information from club insiders indicate that Raoul Shungu could arrive in the country this Friday for formal talks and possibly be in charge of the Blues’ Primus National Football League clash against archrivals SC Kiyovu on Saturday.
