The Lycée de Kigali Gymnasium is finally complete and ready for inauguration on Friday, February 10, Times Sport can confirm.

Located in Nyarugenge District, the 1500-seat facility was constructed through a partnership between NBA Africa and Rwanda’s basketball governing body (FERWABA).

The gymnasium, which has been under construction since October 2022, comprises two main entrance wings.

Landry Jabo, the Ferwaba Executive Director, confirmed to Times Sport that the inauguration of the Gymnasium will take place Friday and will feature an opening basketball match of Junior NBA U 16 boys and girls.

Meanwhile, another court in the Kimironko sector, Gasabo District, is also expected to be inaugurated in May during the playoff finals of the Basketball Africa League.

The courts, officials say, will play a key role in the promotion of the game of basketball in general.

The newly revamped court was built out of a partnership between NBA Africa and Ferwaba.
