Rwandatel SA yesterday opened its customer appreciation week that will run till December 10, aimed at complimenting government efforts in improving customer service in the country.

The telecom company says in recognition of customer loyalty to their brand, each day has been dedicated to a different product or services that it offers.

This includes fixed (Landlines, Fixed Wireless Terminals), GSM, Data and Internet Day. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Issiaka Maiga Hamidou, Rwandatel’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) said the event is a celebration of the good relationship the company has had with its customers.

"We hope they (customers) will ask as many questions as they would like so they can get to learn about our products and services in detail as this week is simply dedicated to them,” Hamidou said.

The CEO also said customers will have the opportunity to meet more Rwandatel managers and staff to discuss with them how to serve them better.

"The information gathered will guide our continuing efforts to improve service delivery. We will review feedback received to ensure that appropriate action has been taken to the expected superior standards,” he said.

According to the CEO, the week provides the company an opportunity to build, enhance and maintain relationships with existing customers.

"We want the customer to experience our total commitment to service.”

The appreciation week will close with a celebratory cocktail between customers and the management and staff of Rwandatel at Laico Umubano on Friday.

Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Agency (RURA) Rwanda said in June this year that Rwandatel had registered 443,534 active subscribers.
