HUYE-The main suspect in the gruesome murder of three children in Rusatira Sector, Huye district has owned up to her crime in a chilling confession.

Francoise Dusabe, 38 a resident of Kafumba Cell was arrested last Friday on suspicion of murdering three step children; Philemon Niyomugabo, 8, Habanabashaka, 5 and Jean Niyongana, 3.

In an interview over the weekend, Dusabe who was under detention at Ngoma Police Station, had earlier denied any involvement in the gruesome murder, saying that she realised that the children were dead on her return from a civil marriage ceremony.

In a new twist, however, speaking after interrogation by Police, Dusabe confessed to having singlehandedly murdered the three children using a hoe and a machete.

"I found the children alone in the house on my return from visiting a relative, I then hacked them to death,” Dusabe told The New Times.

The deceased children had come to visit their father; Daniel Habimana, who separated with their mother five years ago.

Asked about the motive behind the crime, Dusabe said that she had developed misunderstandings with her husband before committing the crime.

"He always boasted of his children, besides I was also not on good terms with the mother of these children,” she said.
