THE Junior Wasps made it two wins on the trot after yesterday’s 1-0 win over Kairouanaise’s U-20 side in Kairouan, Tunisia.

Proline academy striker Andrew Butera scored the winner 24 minutes into the second half to ensure Richard Tardy’s youngsters maintained a clean sheet in three of five warm-up games ahead of next year’s Caf U-17 Championship.

The U-17 side got off to a slow start following their goalless draw against US Monastir but improved with a 1-0 victory over the same side.

The team is now scheduled to face Club Sportif Sfaxien’s U-20 team this Thursday.

Other teams who have qualified for the continental championship include reigning champions Gambia, Gabon, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Mali and Egypt.

The eighth and final qualification spot will be decided this Friday when Burkina Faso play Reunion Island.
The championship will run from January 7-22 in Kigali and Rubavu.
