Musanze FC have announced the appointment of Ahmed Abdel Rahman Adel as their new head coach on a two-year-deal.

The Egyptian returns to the club he previously coached during the 2019/20 season, replacing Frank Ouna who was on a medical leave in Kenya since November last year until he agreed to part ways with the club in late January.

"I like Rwanda and its people. I like to work in Rwanda because I gained a lot from the league of Rwanda. This season Musanze has a good team and we are ready to fight for the top places then next season we can fight for titles," returning Adel said upon arrival in Kigali on Thursday evening.

"I think we can do something good together. I preferred to work at Musanze because I had a good time with the club," he added.

Adel, who coached Gasogi United during the first round of the Rwanda Premier League, embarks on a second managerial stint with Musanze FC, having previously coached the Northern Province-based side for five months until in April 2020 as following the COVID-19 outbreak

He will be working with his assistant Bahaaeldin Ibrahim after the duo agreed on a one-year deal with an option to extend for another year.

"We want to do better this year by winning more games so that we can remain among top teams. We will go game by game then see where we will finish, it [the league] is a big competition in which anyone can beat anyone,” he said.
