Rwanda’s Basketball giants APR BBC and Espoir renew old rivalry when they square-off during Friday’s league clash at STECOL court- starting at 7pm.

The two former champions are some of the teams that have shaped local basketball for almost a decade before the arrival of Patriots and Rwanda Energy Group (REG).

The highly anticipated clash finds APR in the fifth place of the table with 8 points from four games, while arch-rivals Espoir lead with 10 points five games.

Meanwhile, the two teams reinforced their squads going into this season.

For instance, Espoir signed three players including guard Olivier Turatsinze from IPRC-Kigali, forward Eric Muhayumukiza from IPRC-Kigali and shooting guard Hertier Irumva from APR.

Meanwhile, APR added Congolese guard Rolly Fula Nganga, star Rwandan point guard Jean-Jacques Wilson Nshobozwabyosenumukiza, power-forward Axel Mpoyo and power forward Elie Kaje.

They also signed guard Ntore Habimana, center Bush Wamukota, and US-based power forward Dan Manzi Kimasa.

In other games on Friday, Tigers will host Kigali Titans at Kepler court at 7pm, defending champions REG will face Shoot for Stars at STECOL court at 9pm, while Patriots will play against IPRC-Kigali at Kepler court at 9pm.
