Ideal interiors : Give your windows a treatment of Roman shades

Sitting alone a few days ago swimming in my own thoughts at home in the middle of the night, I thought I saw something moving outside and was scared. I moved slowly to the door which is half metal and half glass to peep outside and confirm whether what I was seeing was true. I stood at the door which is at the back of the house, looked outside and saw nothing. I went back to where I was seated and looked again at the door and thought to myself that something ought to be done on this door to cover up the glass area which was actually very open.

As much as the glass area brings in light during the day, it can scare children at night because the glass part of the door is uncovered. After a lot of thinking I came to the conclusion that Roman Shades will work for this particular door because of the nature of its location in the house.

Roman shades are blinds that, when raised, stack in rows known as pleats. Unlike roller blinds, which are more functional than attractive, Roman shades can be made in a variety of styles that can be chosen to fit the style of the room they are used in. Rather than simply being functional, Roman shades can actually become the focal point of a room, so choosing colour, style and material to match the room is essential. Roman shades are window blinds that are also raised and lowered with the pull of a cord. The shades fit neatly inside the window frame when lowered.

Roman blinds are very suitable to use on both windows and doors. In fact Roman shades are very safe in a home where there are children. Like me I will not be worried with my boys having to take it down once I fix Roman shades on this door, since this type of Roman shade is short and cordless and it will be made to fit the area.

These always lighten the feeling of any kind of room. They also come in all styles and colours that could function well in any ambience of any area or room and can highlight the decoration in your kitchen, bathroom or even living room as well as manage the lighting you’d like to have. Due to their popularity there are a number of different types of Roman shades, ranging from usage and appearance to the kinds of materials used in their construction.

Natural Roman Shades

These shades are made from natural materials such as woods, bamboo, reeds, jute, and leaves. Several of these materials may be used together to create an interesting effect. Natural Roman shades are popular due to the unevenness of plant grain, which gives the shades a quirky and individual feel: no two natural Roman shades are exactly alike. Using Natural roman shades in a room can give it a warm, homely feel, while also adding a touch of the exotic and inviting.

Soft Roman Shades

Soft Roman shades are made with fabrics; these sometimes feature a picture or pattern which is fully revealed when the Roman shade is lowered. Using fabrics in Roman shades means that homeowners can choose from a wider range of colours than in Natural Roman shades; they can also use fabrics such as blackout lining, plastics or cottons to achieve an ideal look.

Double Roman Shades

Double Roman shades combine the effectiveness of shade in protecting privacy and defending against sunlight, while also allowing homeowners to raise and lower the shades as required. Double Roman Shades consist of a back shade, which is immobile and made of sheer material: this ensures that passers by cannot see into the room, and also blocks the heaviest sunlight, and also of a front shade, which can be raised or lowered according to how much light the homeowner wishes to have in the room.

For town dwellers and very busy executives, Roman shades are ideal since they save time and energy. You will get rid of the regular cleaning of your windows as the windows attract less dust because of the coverings. Roman shades can keep your glass window spot less for a long period of time. And for anyone else for that matter who needs to spruce up their windows and give the home new look- Roman shades can do the trick.
