Gorilla FC winger Rodrigue Irankunda has been ruled out for the rest of the season through injury.

The Rwandan national U23 player has been out of action since December 16 after he raptured the cruciate ligaments in his knee and meniscus during Gorilla FC 1-0 defeat to AS Kigali in a week 14 encounter.

The player underwent a successful surgery on January 31 and he will now be out of action for at least five months, which means that his season is over as he is set to return to action in July.

His absence is a big blow to coach Moussa Gatera who was counting on his services as one of his best players in the first round of the 2022/23 Rwanda Premier League.

Gorilla FC are currently 11th on the league table with 22 points from 17 games.
