Congrats on the Peace Award

Editor, I would like to congratulate President Paul Kagame on having been awarded the Global Peace and Unity Services to Humanity Award 2010. On top of his numerous awards, this is heartfelt as it truly depicts the true nature of a leader who has brought together masses to a common understanding that unity and tolerance are the essence of peace.

Editor,

I would like to congratulate President Paul Kagame on having been awarded the Global Peace and Unity Services to Humanity Award 2010. On top of his numerous awards, this is heartfelt as it truly depicts the true nature of a leader who has brought together masses to a common understanding that unity and tolerance are the essence of peace.

Given the nature of Rwanda’s violent past, being recognized by the international community at a multi-cultural gathering is a great achievement. Indeed, it doesn’t matter that the religious affiliation, tribal, race or national backgrounds of people are different—they can all live in harmony without violence.

Rwanda has shown the world that this is possible and that Africa can be peaceful.
