Sitball teams intensify preps ahead of World meet

THE National Paralympic Committee has confirmed that Rwanda will field two teams at next month’s World Sitball Championship in Kampala, Uganda. According to the president of the committee, Dominique Bizimana, the teams are already training for the event slated to run from November 9-15.

THE National Paralympic Committee has confirmed that Rwanda will field two teams at next month’s World Sitball Championship in Kampala, Uganda.

According to the president of the committee, Dominique Bizimana, the teams are already training for the event slated to run from November 9-15.

"The teams started training on Monday; one is training at the NPC Gymnasium while the other has camped in Huye,” the official said.

Besides Rwanda and the host nation Uganda, other teams in contention include defending champions Germany, Switzerland, Burundi, Kenya and the DRC.
In the last edition (2008), Rwanda finished third.
