OLIVIER Costa proved he is still a force to reckon with after sweeping the weekend’s rallye du Nord. The speedster clocked one hour, 35 minutes and 55 seconds to claim the 156km race, his first win of the season.
With two-time national champion Davite Giancarlo out of action, Costa, who was driving a Subaru Impreza N11, rose to the occasion to beat Fitidis Christakis (Subaru Impreza N12) by seven minutes and 33 seconds.
Mitraros Elefter in a Subaru Impreza N10 secured third place (one hour, 49 minutes and 34 seconds) while Johnny Murengezi (Subaru Impreza N4) and Said Twizeyimana (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo) finished fourth and fifth after clocking 1:50:09 and 2:16:47 respectively.
Rallye de l'Est and Rallye des 1000 Collines will crown off this year’s local season.
