Lycee de Kigali (LDK) and Kagarama Secondary School were Sunday crowned champions of the CSR Schools Cricket tournament.

After dismissing ISAE Busogo for a paltry score of 68, LDK spearheaded by Don de Dieu Mugisha raced home for the loss of two wickets to claim the boys’ title.
Kagarama on the other hand made the most of their home advantage to retain the girls’ crown after thrashing Apred Ndera.

Needing 77runs to win, the champions sailed home for the loss of three wickets.
After being by far the most impressive side in the tournament, there was little surprise that they dominated the prize giving ceremony by taking three individual awards.

Janvier Cyubahiro was voted best fielder while Mugisha scooped two awards; best batsman and man of series. Effotec’s Chez Guevara Mazimpaka claimed the best bowler prize.

In the girls’ fray, Kigali combined’s Veronica Iriho and Claudine Uwase won the best fielder and bowler awards while Delphine Mukarurangwa scooped the top scorer accolade.

In his closing remarks, Rwanda Cricket Association (RCA) Secretary General Emmanuel Byiringiro thanked Caisse Sociale, Fina Bank and Sulfo for sponsoring the two-week tourney.
