Editor,

I hail the Rwanda National Police and the Red Cross Society of Rwanda who took time to train students on matters concerning road safety during the World Disaster Management Day.

This comes after a series of accidents involving students, who in most cases are reckless and play games while crossing roads.

They don’t use the Zebra crossing since most of them take it for granted as a design on the road yet their lives depend on its proper usage.

In this campaign, drivers as well need to be informed on how to respect the Zebra crossing and stop while people are crossing.

Drivers should watch out for those signs showing children crossing and reduce their speed most especially during rush hours while on the main roads.
