Editor,

Sportsmen and women always aim at winning but due to unavoidable circumstances they sometimes end up not attaining their desired goal of victory.

I liked the comment of the Head Coach of the National Football team, Sellas Tetteh, regarding the issue of the FIFA rankings. This was in response to the Times Sport article that was published on October 21st, 2010, titled, ‘Rwanda drops further on Fifa ladder’.

"It is clear for everyone to see that there is a lot of work to be done. Let’s stop shifting blame and get down to business,” Tetteh affirmed.

That’s a comment from a true sports personality. Therefore we have to join hands and boost our sports sector rather than pointing fingers and blaming others.

Our sportsmen/women need our full support to make it to the top, harsh words that grill and put them down are not helpful since they solve nothing. Remember that, ‘United we stand, divided we fall’.
