THE 121 contestants who turned up for the MTN advertisement competition witnessed a variety of looks from various competitors, ranging from beautiful to stunning, and from handsome to gorgeous, with an added advantage of confidence.

The whole event was geared to selecting the 20 best contestants for the MTN advertisement crew, which will in turn earn the winners rewards and a contract of at least one year with the company.

Contestants had to walk from the entrance to the front, to display their physical appearance and self-confidence.
As Mike Karangwa, the Head of the panel puts it, "The event is all about recruiting individuals with quality, natural beauty and confidence.”

It’s true that the contestants didn’t have to wear make-up because what was required was natural beauty.
Azizi Shyaka, 20, one of the contestants dressed in purely cultural regalia expected the hall to be full and a tight competition and that is why he came prepared, little did he know that it was all about natural beauty; however he believes he’ll make it.

"It was impressive, though not exactly what I expected; but I’m optimistic that I’ll make it,” Shyaka said.
The event came to a close with the judges encouraging the contestants to be more confident and well-prepared in future, to enhance their overall effect.

They urged the teenagers to cheer up, have confidence in themselves and know that chance is always powerful.
The event was organised by Aimable Kubana and sponsored by MTN, Rwandair, Kigali Serena Hotel, Positive Production, and Simba Supermarket.
