Society Debate: Is it okay for guys to wear make up?

It’s completely harmlessMake up doesn’t always have to be heavy. People hear the word and think of copper girl, foundation, lipstick, lip gloss, eye shadow, eyeliner and all that crazy stuff. That is for women, I agree. But men can and actually do wear makeup too, though not as heavily as the ladies.

Make up doesn’t always have to be heavy. People hear the word and think of copper girl, foundation, lipstick, lip gloss, eye shadow, eyeliner and all that crazy stuff. That is for women, I agree. But men can and actually do wear makeup too, though not as heavily as the ladies.

I don’t expect to see a man with glossy lips and blue eye lids though lip balm seems okay. At least do keep the lips moisturized. There is nothing wrong with that even if it is clear that he is indeed wearing something on his lips.

In media professions especially music, drama and television, men are required to wear makeup. There is no way that our most cherished singers would naturally look the way they do in their videos. I can swear that on some occasions, even eye liner is used. To be honest it doesn’t look even one bit queer.

Personally I don’t see what the problem is. I like a man who ‘gets’ women, someone who understands what women go through without being critical. If guys can go for waxing, pedicures and manicures then a little make up shouldn’t be a problem.

It’s called being in touch with your feminine side. Every woman loves a guy who’s macho but at the same time be able to understand feminism. It’s not about looking fabulous only; it’s about keeping yourself well groomed and kempt as well.

David Beckham has his nails painted from time to time. I don’t see how that makes him less of a man. Make up is part of grooming; it’s not just about what you put on your face.

Of course he won’t go parading his nails around spotting a hot red on them. But what’s the harm in a little colourless nail polish?

Maybe it’s the fear of being called gay that makes men shy away from things as simple as these. Wearing makeup or having your nails done does not make you gay. If your wife or girlfriend likes that, should it matter what your boys think?

Make up on guys is really stylish if you ask me. And I thought people usually copied what they saw their favourite stars doing. In some videos I’ve always thought Ushers’ lips looked way too good. Maybe lip gloss is the reason?

I’m thinking that when you have to go through all of that several times, the habit might stick even in your personal life and honestly, it doesn’t matter. Artists’ skins constantly look pale and with all that moving and sweating that they do, I can only assume some sort of powder is responsible.

All that cologne and perfume that you wear is makeup because makeup is supposed to enhance our natural ‘assets’. I will use the word ‘asset’ because it is important to look and smell good.

You can never smell like that naturally and in the same way facial makeup also helps with spicing up your looks because no one looks like that naturally. Just don’t overdo it!
