SOUTH African based rider Adrien Niyonshuti will take part in the tour of Kigali according to Team Rwanda coach Jonathan Boyer.

The two-time Tour of Rwanda champion put in a promising display at the just ended Delhi Games after finishing 19th in the 40km individual time trial race that had attracted 61 cyclists.

Following this show, Boyer has set high targets for the 23-year-old at next month’s
Africa Continental Cycling Championship that will be staged in Rwanda.

"He has the experience to force his way into the top five. He showed a lot of composure in India and I have no doubt that he is on the up,” the American coach noted.
The Tour of Kigali will attract over 50 male and female riders. Male riders will compete over 144km while their female counterparts will race over a 70km distance.

The national cycling federation (Ferwacy) is already lobbying for Rwf11m to stage the tour.
