Editor,

So  many times, I have heard of teachers complaining about the miserable conditions under which they work.

Even some of the country’s best schools are unable to give their teachers allowances that match the amount of time and work invested in order to produce the best students in the country.

Teachers are the most important education resource in any society; the treatment they receive directly impacts on the quality of education that they confer.

We all know that quality education is the backbone of the economy, and is vital for poverty eradication, enhancing equity and expanding access to education hence placing the country on a path of sustainable growth and development.

Let us act in solidarity with teachers and support them in any way possible so that better quality education is achieved in Rwanda.
