The handball federation goes to polls this afternoon at their premises at Amahoro stadium. During the elections, the new executive committee will be voted in for a three-year term of office.

The elections were initially scheduled for last December but had to be rescheduled to give members ample time to notify their statutes.

The federation’s secretary Juste Habumuremyi said that the candidates will be disclosed shortly before the elections.

Posts to be contested for include president, two vice presidents, secretary general, treasurer and a disciplinary council amongst others.

Candidates for the post of president must present their qualifications in the field of sports. The election process will be the first of its kind in the history of Rwandan handball.
