OVER the next three days, twelve academies from the region will contest in a tournament to determine the best in East Africa.

The showpiece organised and hosted by Vision FC kicks off today at Nyamirambo, Mumena, Ferwafa and Kicuriko grounds.

Other teams in contention include Police, APR, Kiyovu, Kimisagara, Ferwafa, Esperance, Sec F.C, Shining F.C, Uganda’s Proline and the DRC pair of Goma and Bukavu.

Vision Youth Group manager John Paul Mudaheranwa believes this a prelude of many more future tournaments.
"We hope such tournaments will help clubs spot talent in the region,” Mudaheranwa said.

Inyange Industries, MTN Rwanda, Banque Populaire du Rwanda (BPR), Magerwa, Bralirwa and Ferwafa have all thrown their weight behind the event.
