Kagame in Libya for Afro-Arab Summit

President Kagame, yesterday, arrived in Libya for the second Afro-Arab Summit taking place in Sirte bringing together numerous Heads of State from African and Arab countries.

President Kagame, yesterday, arrived in Libya for the second Afro-Arab Summit taking place in Sirte bringing together numerous Heads of State from African and Arab countries.

The first Afro-Arab Summit took place 33 years ago.

The summit, which was preceded by a joint Afro-Arab ministerial meeting on October 8,is expected to consider among other issues, the joint report on political and economic development; and adopt a new strategic framework focusing on priority areas of peace and security, investment promotion and security, agriculture and food security, as well as social and cultural cooperation.

The summit will also discuss the outcome of a high-level private sector forum on investment and trade held late last month in Sirte, Libya.
