TODAY, October 9, all roads will lead to the historic Juru Park at Mt. Rebero, Kigali for the Mutzig Beer Fest.
Free transport will be provided every 30 minutes from SONATUBES and the main roundabout in the city centre.

It is said to be a memorable beer fest ever, with plenty of great beer, music, dancing and food. So lush, colourful and well-organised.

The party starts from 6 p.m until 1 a.m and entrance at Rwf 6,000 all inclusive. Mutzig Beer Fest is a popular annual beer festival in the country, and this year marks its 3rd edition since it was launched in 2008.

Mutzig Beer Fest derives its meaning from the famous Oktoberfest, the world’s largest beer festival, held annually in Munich, Germany.

Origin of Oktoberfest

The Oktoberfest tradition started in 1810 to celebrate the October 12th marriage of Bavarian Crown Prince Ludwig to the Saxon-Hildburghausen Princess Therese.

The citizens of Munich were invited to join in the festivities which were held over five days on the fields in front of the city gates. The main event of the original Oktoberfest was a horse race.

The festival was eventually prolonged and moved ahead to September to allow for better weather conditions. Today, the last day of the festival is the first Sunday in October.
