RWANDA’S lone boxer in the Commonwealth Games Haziza Matusi eased through to the second round of the preliminary Light fly (49kg) category after securing a bye in the first round.

Matusi will now play the winner between homeboy Amandeep Singh and Kenya’s Peter Warui on Thursday.
Boxing coach Kananura Gashugi is optimistic Matusi can display a good show when he goes into the ring.

"He is in the right shape at the moment,” said Gashugi.
There are ten weight categories, one fewer than in Melbourne four years ago, a change made in preparation for the London 2012 Olympics, where the introduction of women’s boxing has resulted in the restructuring of the men’s weight classes.

17 boxers are in the race for the light fly crown.
