SPORTS Minister Joseph Habineza has challenged Rwanda’s athletes at the Commonwealth Games to put in a strong show.

Habineza, who attended the Games’ opening ceremony, said, "It is our first appearance in the competition but that does not limit us from impressing. Rwandans back home are eager to see how you will fare in the games.”

The minister even promised huge bonuses for athletes who excel in the 12-day event. The team’s captain Disi Dieudonne assured Habineza that the athletes were pumped up for the challenge.

"The confidence in the team is very impressive and we have no doubt that we shall give our best,” the 29-year-old full marathoner said.
