The president of the National Football Federation (Ferwafa) John Bosco Kazura is convinced that the senior national team-Amavubi will make the most of their home advantage and salvage a much needed win against Benin on October 9.

The wasps are looking to kick-start their 2012 Africa Nations Cup qualifier after getting off to a wobbly start in their Group (H) following their 3-0 defeat in Abidjan against African giants Ivory Coast early this month
Sellas Tetteh and his backroom staff have left nothing to chance after opting to put the team in residential training at La Palisse Nyandungu at the beginning of this month.
Kazura told Times Sport yesterday that the team is being prepared mentally and tactically for the crunch encounter and expects a totally different display at Amahoro Stadium.

"We decided to postpone the Primus league purposely to give the team thorough preparations. The training is not only tactical but also mental because the Benin qualifier is a very important game for us,” the Ferwafa head said before adding, "As usual, the players stand to pocket huge bonuses for the win but that should not be the over riding factor.”

Ivory Coast top the group with three points, Burundi and Benin are second with a point each while Rwanda is at the bottom without a point.

Rwanda is seeking a second appearance at Africa’s premier football tournament following their debut in 2004.

Tetteh concludes European tour
Meanwhile, Amavubi head coach Sellas Tetteh jetted back yesterday evening after a week-long scouting mission in Belgium and France.

Tetteh was expected to watch players like Kevin Monnet-Paquet (Lorient), Mannier Gilbert Muvunyi (Rennes) and the trio of Michel Rusabana, Jean Claude Uwamungu and Jabo Mutsinzi, all of whom play in the Belgium league as well as other Rwandan players in Europe.
