Barely 24 hours after she was crowned Miss National University of Rwanda –NUR, Dorothy Mutesi begun her public duties by taking part in the official launch of the Space Place.

Space Place is a new entertainment spot in Huye district featuring a cinema, bar and nightclub. Mutesi was in the company of her fellow beauty contestants and some elegant Huye Socialites.

Being one of the sponsors of this year’s ‘Rector Excellence Awards’, Space Place offered Miss NUR 2010 a one year pass to access free drinks, a shopping voucher worth Rwf 10,000 at Matar, as well as  free lunch and dinner for two.

The 1st and 2nd runner-ups, Michele Iradukunda and Erica Uwera did not miss out on the privileges. Each one was awarded a one-time access to free drinks, as well as Rwf 5,000 shopping vouchers.

"I would like to thank the girls who courageously contested for this prestigious crown and hope that whatever we have given them inspires the rest to compete for the title, which is important to the Rwandan culture” said Hassan Chakra, the proprietor of Space Cinema.

The event was graced by performances from upcoming artists including Oops Girl, Kayaga and Ben Ganji.
