THE contentious transfer saga involving Ugandan International Johnson Bagoole has taken another twist after claims by Kiyovu head coach Jean Marie Ntagwabira that he is close to securing the player’s signature.

Last week, APR Secretary General Kalisa Adolphe told this paper the military side had already signed Bagoole and his colleague Karim McKenzie, but going by Ntagwabira’s latest comments, the midfielder is still on the market.

"He (Bagoole) may have agreed terms with APR but he has not yet signed which literally means he is still a free agent. I’m still convinced that I can lure him to Kiyovu,” Ntagwabira said.

This week, Kiyovu will play two friendlies with Uganda Super League sides Express and Victors as part of their build up to the new season.

The Nyamirambo based side, which recently won the pre-season Primus Cup, has been tipped to challenge reigning champions APR for the Primus League as well as MTN Peace Cup.

The 2010/11 season kicks off October 16.
