Greetings  from Canada.Felicien Mwumvaneza’s article ("Rwanda, UN, NGOs and State Sovereignty” published in The NewTimes on Saturday September 25, hit all the right points.  As I’ve often told my friends and New Times columnists Butamire Pan and Tom Ndahiro, I wish the articles you gentlemen write could be published in the western media outlets. 

All we get to read are the negative opinions of those who choose to believe only one side of the story.   Heaven forbid that the world should see Rwanda in a different light!  Apparently the truth isn’t nearly as interesting or exciting as all the negativity.  

As a passionate supporter of Rwanda and her incredible people I am very offended by the one-sided articles I read online.  I am neither a university-educated person nor do I profess to be an authority on Rwanda but I am an avid reader and researcher by choice of all things Rwandan.

  I visited your beautiful country in March 2009 and I am coming back next March to stay with friends in Ruhengeri.  I fell in love with Rwanda and her people and have become a very outspoken advocate for her.

  I admit that my Rwanda experience changed my life.  My goal is to move to Rwanda when I retire in a couple of years.  I am on a mission to educate those around me about Rwanda, her history and her people. Please continue educating us!
