AFTER going on a big buying spree where he bought eleven new players, Etincelles coach Abdul Bizimana will test his new recruits in two friendly matches against Congolese top flight club Rwenzori and local rivals Police Fc.

Etincelles will play Rwenzori on Sunday in Rubavu and then take on Primus national league rivals Police on October 3.
The Western Province club is seeking to go one step better this season by winning their first league title and coach Bizimana wants thorough preparations for the new campaign which will see his team challenging on four fronts-League, Peace Cup, Caf Confederations Cup and Cecafa/Kagame Cup.

"This is the biggest season for this club and we need quality players and preparations because we will be competing in four competitions, something very new to this club.

"It would be special for the club if we won a trophy this season,” Bizimana said as he prepares to become the first coach to guide Etincelles in four major competitions and the pressures that inevitably come with the demands of being in the limelight.

Etincelles was formed in 1978 and their most successful season was in 1988 when they won the Habyarimana Cup and also represented Rwanda in the Confederations Cup where they reached the second round.

And now the club is hoping to return to those good old days after finishing second in the Primus League last season and also reaching the semi-finals of the MTN Peace Cup.
