Editor,

Iwas shocked to read in The New Times yesterday that over Rwf 100 million has disappeared from the coffers of the umbrella body of genocide survivors associations, Ibuka. Whoever has done such a thing is not only a criminal, but an actual enemy of the Rwandan people.

To steal money from the organization that advocates for survivors of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi is beyond the pale. I’m not saying that stealing from any organization is a good thing. But for someone working with an organization like Ibuka to steal from orphans and widows is simply diabolical. I hope that the courts will throw the book at these criminals.
