Police’s new signing Muhadjiri Hakizimana is all smiles after scoring on his debut of his second spell with Police FC.

Hakizimana fired a stunning volley on his debut to save maximum points for Police after beating Gorilla FC 3-2 in a five-goal thriller on Friday at Bugesera Stadium.

"I am happy to score in the first game; I won’t be alone as I am joining many good players at the club,” an excited Hakizimana said.

"I hope to score many more goals for this club. I have done it in the past and am confident I will keep scoring,” he added.

The Rubavu-born goal machine completed his return to Police early in January as a free agent and agreed to play for the club on a six-month deal after spending half of the season with AlKholood FC in Saudi Arabia.

Rwanda international’s sensational return to the law enforcers comes just six months after he failed to agree on a new deal with the Saudi club.

"Right now, all I want is to help out in any way I can to make sure we get more points in upcoming matches,” he said.

Police sit 10th on the league table with 24 points, nine behind leaders AS Kigali and club head coach Vincent Mashami is confident that Hakizimana’s quick impact could help the team return to contention for the league title.

"He is a good forward and is renowned in the region because of his goal-scoring capacity, we expect him to be productive for Police,” the former Amavubi tactician said.
