Protecting our parks must be a priority

Now that tourism is either our number one foreign exchange earner, or a close second, we must do all we can as Rwandans to make sure that we give ourselves every chance of competing favorably with our continental rivals.

That is why I’m extremely pleased that $10 million has been earmarked to protect Akagera National Park, located in the Eastern Province, from encroachers and poachers. While this sounds like a lot of money, it is merely an investment into our future.
