Poem : Nation grieved but defying lies- by Constable Patriot

Fairly nation of a thousand hills I see the scars on your face on your arms and every where scars deep fatally intended I see the graves without liturgy Mounds of earth and no cross

Fairly nation of a thousand hills
I see the scars on your face
on your arms and every where
scars deep fatally intended
I see the graves without liturgy
Mounds of earth and no cross

Whistles, drums, ominous cries
Ethnic purge gangs of blood
panga slashes sickles hummer,
spears hoes knives flash
children mothers brutally murdered
streams of blood innocent blood
Shrills of agony resonate in time
On the hills and in the valleys
down the streams swamp swallows
in the bush and open ground,
ravaged homes plagued streets
lists of doom lead the trail
belching vultures dared the dogs
love’s labor’s lost in a trance

But now we stand firm and strong
against the odds and the ogre
UN failed just like then
when the wails filled the skies
protective walls just like lies
world government failed and feeble
Now like then they miss the point

But we stand firm and strong
defying lies of defecting folks
evil driven cult of greed
shameless kins miss the stakes
failed reason is all it takes
apocalypse is not any gain
looming in wait for all and them

But we stand firmly entrenched
defying the mud and the sling
extending hand to friend and foe
then the truth sings our praise
as we walk shoulders high
oh the land of thousand hills
for you we live and for you we die.
