THE Ministry of Information is still fully operational, Protais Musoni, Minister of Cabinet affairs has announced, dismissing rumours that the Ministry was scrapped after it failed to appear on the new Cabinet line-up that was announced yesterday.

In an interview with The New Times, Musoni, who also serves as caretaker of the Information Ministry, said that as far as the Government is concerned, the ministry is working like any other Ministry.

"It’s just that the powers with the prerogative to appoint have not appointed anyone to occupy that position but as far as I am concerned, I am still in charge,” Musoni said, adding that not having a fully designated minister does not mean that it has been scrapped.

"When time comes, the appointing authority will choose the right placement to take over the ministry. I am sure there will be someone appointed to occupy that position,” Musoni added.
