Editor,

Reading this publication, I learnt that the eagerly awaited probe by the Office of the Prosecutor General to establish whether IBUKA officials released over Rwf 88m to ‘ghost’ organizations has been concluded and that the findings will be published this week.

Rwf88m isn’t pocket change; if that money has been used to line someone’s pockets then they should face the full force of the law.

Personally, it saddens me that someone could even think about commiting such a crime. To steal money from an organization like IBUKA is heartless.

How someone can steal from an organization meant to advocate for the rights of the survivors of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi is beyond me. Most especially when one realizes that the culprit is a survivor. Sadly, the love of money made some people lose their humanity.

I suggest that if there is some impropriety, and that has to be proven in a competent court, they suffer not only a jail term but censure from the Rwandan people. They would be worse than dirt in my eyes.
