Western Province should be emulated

Editor, I want to laud the Western Province for surpassing its revenue collection targets. Rwanda is attempting to wean itself off aid and this will only be possible if the money that is pumped into the National Budget comes from the sweat of our brows. When an entire province exceeds its revenue collection obligations, it means that this money is entering the government coffers.

Rwanda Revenue Authority offices in Kigali. The Western Province has exceeded tax collection projections.

Editor,

I want to laud the Western Province for surpassing its revenue collection targets. Rwanda is attempting to wean itself off aid and this will only be possible if the money that is pumped into the National Budget comes from the sweat of our brows. When an entire province exceeds its revenue collection obligations, it means that this money is entering the government coffers.

I urge all the other provinces to take a leaf out of the Western Province’s book. If all our Provinces can exceed their targets, then the State will be able to provide more services to the people. Once again, well done Western Province.
