Peace! Meddy

Word reaching us is that Meddy has criticized a local journalist (name withheld), who recorded a private telephone conversation he had with the latter.

According to the scoop, Meddy had said he would never return to Rwanda until he obtained a Green Card.

The singer has called the reports "ridiculous and biased” and said he never expected the journalist in question to report on such details.

The story apparently circulated resulting in much criticism and riling his fans.
Meddy, whose real name is Medard Ngabo, said the reporter did wrong to broadcast the conversation without his knowledge.

Rumours

According to Salus Radio, the ‘Akaramata’ singer also dismissed rumours that the duet, Meddy and The Ben, had flown to America for greener pastures.

"We didn’t flee the country. We were invited to America and our visas are still valid until January 2, 2011,” Meddy said to clarify his statement.

"The reason we’re still here is because we’re still making contacts with music labels based here and we intend to return as soon as the deal is closed,” he added.

Meddy noted: "Neither The Ben nor I are in Canada. It’s funny to hear claims that we are in Canada doing the rounds. We’ve never gone there!  We live in California, Los Angeles.”

The duet left for the US on July 2 on the invitation of the Rwandan International Network Association, and was expected to return on July 28, 2010.
