APR men volleyball club will be looking for maximum points against Gisenyi College and Butare Seminary (PSB) to edge closer to a fourth consecutive league title in a hectic weekend that will see each team play two matches played in two days.

The defending champions hold a two point cushion over National University of Rwanda (NUR) side and two wins against Gisenyi College and Butare Seminary (PSB) will leave them in pole position to be the first team to win four consecutive titles.

In the women’s fray Rwanda Revenue Authority will need one more point to clinch the league title if they manage to defeat bottom side St. Joseph and also win against champions APR, who are two points adrift tomorrow.

The technical director in the National Volleyball federation, Christian Hatumimana told Times Sport that the reason that teams will play two matches in two days is that they want the league to end quickly so that the national teams (men and women) can prepare for the African Championships in October.

"We want the national teams to prepare fully for the national African volleyball championship that kicks off next month in Libya (men) and Tunisia (women),” said Hatumimana. Four matches are remaining in the men’s league and two for women.
