14 Heads of State for Presidential swearing-in

KIGALI - At least 14 Heads of State have so far confirmed they will attend the inauguration ceremony of President-elect Paul Kagame slated for September 6.

According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs Louise Mushikiwabo, the 14 that have confirmed presence are mainly Africa leaders but many more are still coming in.

"We are yet to come to a conclusive figure, hopefully by Thursday, we will be able to provide you with a full list of who is attending,” Mushikiwabo who is coordinating international guests to the swearing in ceremony, noted that many foreign dignitaries have already expressed their interest to attend the historic event.

Preparations countrywide have been in high gear as the country braces itself for the swearing in ceremony of President Kagame who is embarking on a second term of office following his landslide victory.

Over 90,000 people are expected to converge at Amahoro National Stadium to witness the event while, countrywide, citizens will celebrate the day at the village level and follow the proceeding through the media.
