I want to congratulate residents of Kirehe for increasing their use of family planning services; statistics show that residents used family planning services 38 percent of the time, up from 26 percent last year. I think that lowering the birth rate here is key for sustainable development.

We cannot afford to have a population explosion. Rwanda is already one of the most densely populated nations in the world. We need a manageable growth rate, and this will only happen if, and when Rwandans start using family planning services.
