Gasabo employees vow to fight corruption

KIGALI - Employees of Gasabo District, in their respective capacities, have vowed to fight against corruption while encouraging residents in the district to be persons of integrity.

KIGALI - Employees of Gasabo District, in their respective capacities, have vowed to fight against corruption while encouraging residents in the district to be persons of integrity.

The employees made the pledge, yesterday, during a swearing in ceremony committing to implement the district’s performance contract, a function that took place at Kinyinya Sector offices.

The district mayor, Willy Ndizeye, urged the employees to work hard and always strive to improve the living standards of residents through the promotion of hygiene.

"We should not take this swearing in for granted… it is your responsibility to make reality what is contained in the district’s performance contracts through delivering better services,” Ndizeye said.

In an interview, the mayor expressed optimism that the swearing in ceremony would add value to the performance contracts saying that employees will always work keeping in mind that they took oath both before God and the district administration.

He called upon the employees to always evaluate themselves to ascertain how far they have gone in implementing the contracts, instead of waiting for the general evaluation all districts.

Those who participated include, Sector Executive Secretaries, cell coordinators and executives, heads of department at the district and the district Executive Secretary.
