THE first ever competition ‘Talent Detection’ is on,  and preparations are well underway. In an interview with The New Times, Gaston Rurangwa, the organiser of the competition said that registrations started on August 24, and will run until September 3, 2010 in Kacyiru, Kimisagara, Kicukiro and Gikondo,Rurangwa, KGB member, (Mr. Skizzy) added that contestants will compete in two genres, R&B and Hip-hop and, three winners from each category will be awarded a recording deal for one album (CD & DVD).

THE first ever competition ‘Talent Detection’ is on,  and preparations are well underway.

In an interview with The New Times, Gaston Rurangwa, the organiser of the competition said that registrations started on August 24, and will run until September 3, 2010 in Kacyiru, Kimisagara, Kicukiro and Gikondo,
Rurangwa, KGB member, (Mr. Skizzy) added that contestants will compete in two genres, R&B and Hip-hop and, three winners from each category will be awarded a recording deal for one album (CD & DVD).

"The best winners will have chance to record an album of 12 tracks from any production house of their choice,” Mr. Skizzy said.

Mr. Skizzy is working in collaboration with renowned music producers Lick Lick, Pastor P and Jay P.

The much anticipated gala night for "Talent Detection’ is slated for September 4, and various artists including Jay Polly, Bably, Babou, Ellion Victory, Dream Boyz, Daniella, Knowles, Just Family and Paccy will entertain fans.

A source close to Mr. Skizzy, said the artist, also a presenter on Voice of Africa, has invested a lot in the show, because he knows the bigger the event the more successful it becomes.

"We know that if Mr. Skizzy organises an event, it must be amazing because he is very dedicated and hardworking,” the source added.

Mr Skizzy said the aim of the competition is to give upcoming artists platform to exploit their talent, chance to record their compositions as well as get a sip of popularity.
